COMPETITION REPORT
For the first time Arun Southcoast Judo Club closed its Saturday morning training session at Littlehampton Swimming Centre. This was because ten members were taking part in the Annual Open Championships in Southampton.
The Competition was run by Southampton Samurai Judo Club and is always a friendly event and worth the journey.
The ten consisted of 2 Primary and 8 Junior members. For the 2 Primaries, Connor Leonard and Christopher Jones it was their 1st Open Competition.
Christopher won his first fight in a few seconds and won his second match just as impressively, losing his 3rd to team mate Connor and his 4th in the last few seconds and took home a well deserved Bronze!
Connor was oustanding throughout all 4 fights and took home Gold for his 4 wins.
Charlie Wise has taken part in several competitions as a Primary, this was his 1st Competition as a Junior. Charlie was in explosive form taking no prisoners with 4 straight wins adding yet another Gold to his collection.
For Sam Collins it was also his 1st Open Competition! Sam took home a Silver from extremely hard group, putting in some superb Judo.
Lawrence Esswood also earned a Silver for his hard work against a very strong opponent.
Aaron Randall received a Bronze from a strong group of fighters while his sister Hannah Randall won herself a Gold.
For Joshua Smith and Keyahnoush Penny this was another competition before their journey to Oxford the following weekend with Charlie and Connor. Joshua (Rubber Man) won himself a well earned Silver while Keyo secured another Gold in stylish fashion.
A very well done to all those that took part in the competition! You all worked hard and its always nice to take home a Trophy / Medal. Keep up the GOOD WORK!
